TESTIMONIALS

“We enjoyed a wonderful visitor to our Caldarra Avenue Engadine Centre yesterday. Shanon from Push the Limit spoke with the children about disability and inclusion, sharing his own personal experiences and abilities in aspects of his life including sport and work.

The children undertook many activities around vision impairment and also participated in wheelchair relay races.”

“We were so lucky to have Shannon from "Push the Limit" come to the preschool yesterday to share what it is like to live using a wheelchair to get around.

What a fantastic opportunity for children to see everyday people in our community with all sorts of abilities and skills participate in lots of different activities such as sports and water activities.

Shannon spent time talking to the children and showing them pictures of people participating in wheelchair tennis, rugby and water sports such paddle boarding in a wheelchair.

The children had the opportunity to ask Shannon questions and participate in some experiences, which allows them to feel what it might be like for even just a minute.

Shannon also had the children participate in some activities which affect visually impaired people, by using blind folds and leading each other around the environment.

Thank you Shannon and we can't wait to get you back again.”

“Today Anchorage welcomed Shannon Bates to present his “Push the Limits” workshop to our Captains children.

Shannon has been in a wheelchair all of his life and is passionate about spreading awareness of having a disability to young children. He engaged the children in different activities and they really enjoyed all of them. He gave the children an opportunity to have an understanding of what it is to be blind, with the children wearing masks and walking with a partner and showing them the Braille method of learning. They also got to use the children’s wheelchairs to have races.

Thanks so much Shannon, continue inspiring the world and allowing people to have a understanding that anything is possible!”
